Desouk Polling Station Gymnasium Dawn Setup

Pale concrete walls reflect the soft, diffused glow of first light filtering through high windows in the Desouk gymnasium. Rows of wooden tables stretch into the distance, creating strong leading lines that converge toward the back of the hall. On the nearest table, official petition sheets lie flat beside a small, weathered town hall board marked with Arabic script. The monsoon season is evident in the damp, dark patches staining the lower sections of the gymnasium floor and the heavy, humid stillness hanging in the air. Warm interior shadows pool beneath the tables, against the cool, gray light washing over the upper walls. One metal chair leg rests against the table edge, casting a sharp, geometric shadow on the linoleum.
