A wire mesh tray holding acrylic tags and cardboard slips rests on a laminate ledge beneath plain storefront lighting. Hard late-afternoon monsoon glare cuts across the surface, illuminating fine dust particles settled on the shelf stock and catching the rough texture of a nearby tissue. Through the glass, the wet pavement of a Bamako street reflects the sky, while the converging lines of the storefront frame draw toward a distant vanishing point. A slightly crumpled cookie tin sits at the edge, adding lived-in clutter to the orderly display.
