Delta Village on Stilts Inside Montreal Skylit Passage
A bird's-eye perspective looks down into a flooded delta village constructed on wooden stilts, positioned within a bright midmorning skylit passageway in Montreal. Late summer low-hanging clouds diffuse the crisp high-altitude light, softening the shadows across the waterlogged pathways and thatched roofs. The wooden pilings show weathered gray textures against the dark, still water, while the surrounding architecture frames the scene with heavy stone and glass elements typical of the city. Narrow walkways connect clusters of small dwellings, creating a dense network of human habitation suspended above the floodwaters. The overhead skylight reveals the geometric grid of the passageway ceiling, casting rectangular patches of brightness onto the wet surfaces below. A small red lantern hangs from a rafter, its reflection rippling gently in the dark water.
