Frozen Lightning Over Montreal Cobblestone Crosswalk

Wet cobblestones reflect the pale glow of a flickering underpass light in Montreal during a light winter drizzle. White crosswalk stripes stretch across the uneven gray stones, leading toward a row of shopfronts with glass surfaces mirroring the damp street. Above, a jagged bolt of lightning hangs suspended in the gray sky, its branching tendrils frozen mid-strike against the late morning gloom. The cold air settles on the wet pavement, creating a slick sheen that doubles the light from the overhead fixtures. Raindrops rest on the glass, distorting the reflections of the brickwork and the electric blue-white streaks of the storm. A puddle at the edge of the curb catches the fractured light, highlighting the texture of the moss growing between the stones.
