Dawn light illuminates arched roof of Vienna train station with steam haze

The vast interior of the Vienna Hauptbahnhof stands quiet in the pre-dawn hours, its sweeping steel and glass arched roof dominating the upper frame. A thin layer of steam haze rises from the tracks below, diffusing the sparse artificial lighting into soft glows against the dark metal girders. Empty platforms stretch into the shadows, marked by worn concrete and yellow safety lines. A solitary maintenance cradle hangs motionless above the tracks, its structure silhouetted against the grey light filtering through the glass ceiling.
