Dark Purple Eggplants in Cartagena

Cool early morning light spills across a weathered stone balcony in Cartagena, illuminating a cluster of dark purple eggplants resting on a rough wooden crate near the railing. The smooth, waxy skin of the fruit contrasts sharply with the deep green shadows cast by nearby hibiscus leaves that have crept over the edge.
