A wet London pavement reflects the flat grey sky, framing a cramped bus shelter where a damp linen napkin lies crumpled on the bench beside a discarded magazine rack. Rain has softened the edges of a nearby tree, its leaves dripping onto the slick concrete, while a lone coat stand leans against the shelter's glass panel, holding a single pair of hands that grip a folded handkerchief. Finger smudges mark the transparent barrier, blurring the view of passing red buses. The crazed majolica glaze of a nearby shop sign catches the dull light, against the rough texture of the wet pavement.
