Early morning light falls through the dense canopy of a mature sycamore tree, casting dappled leaf shadows on the stucco exterior of a weathered bungalow in Silver Lake. The cool air settles on a narrow concrete driveway where a vintage wooden rocking chair sits abandoned near the front porch steps, its slats catching the first pale rays of sun. A small, rusted coat hook protrudes from the peeling white paint of the front door frame, holding a single faded denim jacket that sways slightly in the breeze.
