The cool stillness before sunrise casts a blue-grey light over a narrow Venetian canal, where the water surface mirrors the damp, moss-stained stone walls of adjacent buildings. A weathered stone ledge in the foreground holds a chipped vintage majolica plate, its colorful ceramic pattern standing out against the grey masonry. Nearby, white soap residue stains the porous surface of the wall, evidence of recent washing. A quiet, lived-in moment of daily life along the waterway, with no people present, focusing on the textures of the old architecture and the remnants of domestic routines left behind in the early morning hours.
