Bronze Caster with Heat-Reddened Cheeks

Soft north light from a high window illuminates the weathered face of a bronze caster in an old Sydney quarter. His cheeks glow with a deep, heat-reddened flush, contrasting against the pale, frosty dust coating his eyebrows and the rim of his protective goggles. The early spring chill is visible in the thin layer of white crystals clinging to his dark work coat and the metal tools resting nearby. Foreground bokeh blurs the edges of the frame, keeping focus tight on his attentive, still expression. Fine lines of concentration map his forehead, while the frost crystals catch the light like tiny diamonds against the warm skin tone. One frost crystal rests on the collar of his jacket.
