Rain-slicked pavement in Bristol’s Cabot Circus district reflects the flat grey light of an overcast midday, creating a mirrored surface beneath a cluster of bright yellow rain boots abandoned near a bus stop shelter. The glossy wet ground contrasts sharply with the matte, scuffed leather of a discarded basketball resting against a concrete pillar, its orange hue vivid against the surrounding steel and glass architecture. Nearby, a shop window displays a row of ceramic cups with matte glaze, their earthy tones muted by the diffuse daylight, while scratches on a nearby acrylic sign catch the ambient glare.
