Bread Basket on Polished Sideboard Midnight Light

Soft tungsten light pools across a dark wooden sideboard, highlighting the grain and creating elongated, shimmering reflections that stretch horizontally. A woven bread basket sits centered in the composition, its rough texture against the smooth, lacquered surface beneath. The light catches the rim of the basket, casting deep shadows into the weave while illuminating the warm amber tones of the wood. Early spring is suggested by the cool, low angle of the artificial glow against the heavy interior shadows. The polished table acts as a mirror, doubling the shape of the basket in a fluid, liquid distortion. A faint highlight traces the edge where the basket meets the wood.
