A weathered brass tea kettle sits perched on a rusted metal railing of a Chennai balcony, its surface catching the harsh, high-contrast light of a bright late morning. The curved body reflects the deep blue of the sky and the blurred greenery of a nearby tamarind tree, creating a sharp juxtaposition between the polished metal and the oxidized iron of the fence. Below the railing, a glimpse of a narrow street reveals a parked two-wheeler and a splash of yellow paint on a crumbling stucco wall, at the base of the scene in its specific urban context. One drop of water rests on the kettle's spout, distorting the reflection of a distant satellite dish before it falls.
