Brass Gate Handle in Edinburgh

A brass gate handle stands mounted on the rough, grey sandstone wall of a traditional Edinburgh tenement building. The metal surface reflects the diffuse, flat light typical of a winter noon sky, showing faint scratches and verdigris near the screws. A small patch of moss grows in the crevice between the stone blocks, adding a touch of green to the otherwise monochrome palette. The handle is secured by two rusted bolts that anchor it firmly into the weathered masonry.
