Brass Door Latch in Florence

A brass door latch rests against the rough, ochre stucco of a narrow Florentine alleyway, catching the faint, cool light of early morning. The metal surface shows signs of age with subtle verdigris patina forming in the crevices of the latch mechanism. Behind the latch, a sliver of a heavy wooden door reveals dark, weathered grain and a small iron hinge. One drop of morning dew rests on the edge of the metal plate, reflecting the pale sky above.
