A heavy iron gate stands closed against the textured facade of a traditional riad in Essaouira during the late afternoon light. The deep blue paint on the metalwork shows signs of wear, with flakes revealing the rusted iron beneath the original coating. Sunlight strikes the wall at a low angle, casting long, sharp shadows that emphasize the rough texture of the surrounding stucco. One brass knob on the gate catches the direct rays, glowing with a warm, golden hue against the cool blue tones.
