Blue Hour Victorian Bandstand in Miami Skylight

by Khalil Jordan

Deep blue twilight fills a glass-roofed passageway in Little Havana, illuminating a black cast-iron bandstand from above. The structure rises on curved pillars with decorative spires, its intricate lattice resting on a patterned tile floor. Dramatic storm clouds streak across the darkening sky, visible through the glass ceiling and casting shifting shadows across the metalwork. Tropical greenery lines the edges of the walkway beside the iron columns. Late summer light reflects off the polished surfaces, while the open space extends under the glass roof. The base of the structure meets the wet tiles where a small puddle catches the reflection of a cloud edge.
