Pale morning light spills across the wet cobblestones of Södermalm, catching the chrome fender of a rust-speckled bicycle leaning against a black iron railing. Behind it, the facade of a red ochre wooden building glows with saturated warmth, its white-trimmed windows reflecting the damp sky. One caster wheel from a nearby vendor cart rests in a puddle, mirroring the gray concrete. Steam rises faintly from a café doorway, blurring the edge of a cut glass decanter visible through the glass, where condensation rests on the rim.
