On a dark velvet armchair, fine lint accumulates on the fabric, catching the weak morning glow. The windowsill shows white mineral rings from decades of hard water, marking the passage of time in the city. A simple metal coat hook hangs on the peeling paint of the wall, holding a heavy wool coat.
