Severe midmorning light falls through a soft overcast sky, illuminating a couture jacket suspended in a Toronto rehearsal space. A magnifying lamp casts a concentrated pool of brightness directly onto the garment, revealing intricate beadwork where every tiny crystal and seed bead reflects the overhead glow. The fabric drapes in heavy folds, against the sharp, metallic shine of the embroidery. Soft reflections dance across the nearby polished metal stands and glass surfaces, creating a halo of scattered highlights around the central subject. The winter chill is visible in the stark, clean lines of the room and the stillness of the suspended fabric, showing the texture of the thread and the precision of the handiwork. One bead catches the light at the edge of the frame, holding a sharp white specular highlight.
