The room is dim, the predawn darkness outside the storefront window pressing against the glass. Late autumn shadows stretch across the floor where a quiet closing light hums in the corner. The mirror reflects the bare bulbs, casting cool halos on the metal fixtures. Dust settles on the wood grain near the sink. The white fabric contrasts with the dark leather of the chair, while the storefront daylight begins to flatten the edges of the room. A small pile of clippers sits beside the towel, ready for the day.
