A red and white speckled Australian Cattle Dog stands in profile against a weathered concrete courtyard wall near Medan. Deep shadows cloak the animal's lower body while a soft rim of light outlines the curve of its back and the set of its prick ears. The ground shows patches of wet concrete and scattered dried leaves from the rainy season, suggesting recent heavy overcast skies. The dog's muzzle is broad and dark, against the coarse texture of its short coat. Faint water stains mark the lower section of the plain wall behind the animal. A small plastic bowl sits near the dog's paws on the damp floor. The lighting creates a high-contrast silhouette effect without losing the detail of the fur pattern.
