Australian Kelpie in Liulichang Courtyard Shadow

An Australian Kelpie stands motionless beside a plain, weathered courtyard wall in the historic Liulichang district of Beijing. The animal's coat displays a distinct brindle pattern with coarse texture visible under the early morning light. Deep shadows engulf the front of the dog, while a sharp rim of pale dawn light outlines its ears and spine against the dark wall. The setting sun has not yet reached this corner, leaving the ground in cool, soft shadow. Only the dog's muzzle shape and the specific set of its ears are clearly defined by the backlight. Late spring greenery peeks from a small crack in the pavement near the wall base. The shallow depth of field blurs the distant street details into soft shapes.
