Morning light spills over the whitewashed facades of a narrow Athens alley, casting long shadows across the cobblestones. A heavy iron district heating pipe runs along the base of a stucco wall, releasing a steady plume of steam that drifts through scattered dry autumn leaves. The steam catches the pale sunlight, creating a soft haze against the textured stone. A few weathered majolica tiles are visible embedded in the wall near a doorway, their faded blue patterns against the gray pavement.
