Golden light spills across the dusty cobblestones of a narrow Oaxaca alley, catching the worn varnish on a wooden chair rung where a local artisan rests his hands. Beside him, a brass bellows sits idle, its leather bellows collapsed from hours of stoking the forge for intricate silverwork. The scene is alive with the texture of daily labor, framed by the vibrant pink stucco of a colonial building and the shadow of a hanging ceramic tile roof. A mechanical pencil lies discarded on a nearby workbench, its graphite tip broken, hinting at the precise sketches that precede the metalwork.
