The vendor, wearing a faded apron, is carefully arranging a stack of paper cones filled with bright orange nectarines, their skins glowing against the cool gray dawn. A small glass cloche sits empty on the cart’s counter, catching the first sharp rays of sun, while a discarded piece of curled orange peel rests on the wet cobblestones nearby.
