Arranging Fruit in Krakow
Rain-slicked cobblestones in the Old Town reflect the pale, diffused light of early morning, creating a mirror-like sheen on the grey stone. A vendor stands behind a small wooden cart, adjusting a heavy iron door latch on a side cabinet while arranging bright red apples from a plastic fruit crate. Steam rises faintly from a nearby café window, blurring the glass with condensation. The vendor’s leather apron, stained with use, hangs loosely over a striped shirt, against the polished copper pots displayed on the cart’s lower shelf. Raindrops rest on the metal edges, catching the weak sunlight. A drying rack leans against the cart, holding damp white linens that drip steadily onto the wet pavement below.
