Warm amber light from string lamps spills across a clean writing desk surface near Torreón, illuminating a cluster of antique keys. Brass and iron keys lie scattered in a centered arrangement, their aged patinas catching the soft glow. Metal surfaces show scratches and wear against the smooth, uncluttered wood. Shadows stretch long and deep under the keys, falling across the dark background. Early summer warmth lingers in the bare, polished wood and the intimate, focused lighting. The objects remain still, with no movement, only the heavy, quiet presence of the metal resting on the surface. One key lies slightly apart, its teeth pointing toward the center of the group.
