Thick plumes of white steam descend heavily from the ceiling like viscous liquid, pooling around the stainless steel legs of a self-serve dog wash station in Tarija. A clipboard rests on a wet, tiled floor, its paper surface reading clearly against the rich amber glow of the setting sun. Fine dust motes hang suspended in the shafts of copper-toned light that cut through the descending vapor. The clipboard shows signs of use with fur and fiber clinging to its acrylic edges, while the wet floor reflects the heavy, downward-flowing air. A small puddle gathers near the metal base, mirroring the strange, gravity-defying cloud above. The scene remains still and professional despite the impossible flow of the steam.
