Aerial Flower Fields in Dawn Fog Anchorage

Cold silver dawn light spills across a patchwork of flower fields arranged in parallel color bands. These vibrant strips stretch over dune fields and dry wadis near Anchorage during the polar night. Ground fog pools heavily in the low depressions between the ridges, obscuring the base of the terrain while the higher flower beds remain sharp and distinct. The diagonal composition of the colored rows cuts across the frame, showing tension against the soft, white mist. Textures vary from the smooth, hazy surface of the fog to the rough, undulating sand of the dunes. Dark shadows rest on the crevices of the wadis, against the bright, linear patterns of the blooms that rise above the low-lying cloud cover.
