Rain-slicked Adobe Avenue reflects the muted grey sky, the wet adobe walls glowing with deep ochre tones where the water has darkened the sun-baked clay. A local vendor adjusts a canvas awning over a display of hand-woven textiles, the heavy fabric pulling taut against the damp air. Beside the stall, a copper water basin catches the runoff, its surface rippling with each drop from the eaves. A woman in a wide-brimmed hat steps carefully over a puddle, her leather boots leaving distinct prints in the thin layer of mud near the curb.
