A narrow patio in Seville glows with the thick, amber light of late afternoon, illuminating a stonemason working on a traditional zinc roof. The worker, shirtless and focused, hammers a sheet of metal, the rhythmic strikes sending sparks that catch the warm air. Beside him, a battered enamel pitcher sits on a ledge, condensation beading on its blue rim, while a small electric fan oscillates nearby, pushing the heat away. Above, a window box overflows with geraniums, their red petals stark against the white-washed wall.
