Rain slicks the cobblestones of Bryggen as dusk settles over Bergen, turning the colorful Hanseatic facades into blurred watercolor streaks against the gray sky. A local woman in a heavy wool coat pauses under the narrow stone archway, her breath visible in the damp air, while she adjusts the strap of a canvas tote bag. Behind her, the wet pavement reflects the neon glow of a nearby bakery sign, casting long, distorted shadows that stretch toward the harbor.
