Window Interaction in Milan
by Adam Burks
First light diffuses through the heavy mist clinging to the Via Montenapoleone, softening the sharp edges of historic stone facades and turning the wet pavement into a mirror of pale gray sky. A delivery scooter, parked haphazardly near a bakery entrance, bears the rain’s weight with droplets sliding off its black fairing, while the shop’s glass window reflects the street’s emptiness. Inside, the warm glow of a display case reveals rows of golden pastries, against the cool, damp exterior. Condensation beads on the inner pane, blurring the view of a worker in a white apron who is carefully arranging trays, his movements slow and deliberate in the quiet morning.
