Window Display in Madrid
by Gail Michael
Late afternoon sun spills across the worn limestone facade of a traditional Madrid shop, illuminating a narrow display window where a hammered copper tray rests on a wooden shelf. The metal catches the warm light, creating sharp reflections that dance against the deep jade-green ceramic glaze of a nearby vase. A vintage majolica plate with intricate blue patterns leans casually against the glass, its glossy surface mirroring the street outside. Peaches sit in a small pile on the sill, their fuzzy skin against the smooth, cool tiles. A simple doormat lies just visible at the threshold, worn by years of foot traffic.
