White Apron in Cusco

One white apron hangs from a wooden peg on a rough stone wall in Cusco, catching the first warm rays of the morning sun. The fabric is slightly translucent where the light hits it, revealing the texture of the woven cotton against the shadowed masonry. Below the apron, a narrow ledge holds a small clay pot and a few scattered grains of corn, at the base of the scene in daily local life. Dust motes dance in the bright beam of light, highlighting the aged surface of the ancient Incan stone behind the hanging cloth.
