Weathered Scribe with Quill Stains in Seomyeon

Bright tropical midmorning light floods the old quarter in Seomyeon, Busan, illuminating the deep lines of a scribe's weathered face. The subject sits in early winter, with ground fog pooling in the low corners of the narrow alley behind them. Dark quill-ink stains mark the tip of a finger resting near the chin, contrasting against pale, textured skin. A heavy wool coat suggests the chill, while the background dissolves into soft, out-of-focus bokeh. The light catches the rough weave of the fabric and the sheen of moisture on the foggy pavement. One shadow falls across the collarbone, at the base of the figure in the space.
