Via Ferrata Climber in Blue Hour Twilight Rain in at a roadside stop near Cordoba

Via Ferrata Climber in Blue Hour Twilight Rain

by Lance Cash

Cool blue twilight washes the exposed rock face as a climber traverses the via ferrata route. Raindrops bead on the wet granite, turning the stone a deep charcoal grey. The climber, clad in dark technical gear, extends a gloved hand to clip the safety cable, their body angled sharply against the vertical drop. Below, the roadside stop near Cordoba glows with the soft, scattered orange of street lamps reflecting off the slick asphalt. Early spring vegetation rests on the cliff base, its fresh green leaves glistening under the drizzle. The low angle emphasizes the height, making the safety line appear as a taut, silver thread cutting through the dimming sky. Water streams down the rock face, catching the faint city light in fleeting, bright streaks.
