Under the indigo wash of Cape Town’s blue hour, a street vendor’s cart sits illuminated by the warm, yellow spill of a nearby café window. The vendor, a woman in a bright yellow apron, laughs while balancing a stack of terracotta bowls on her hip, her hands busy arranging fresh red onions and green peppers on the wooden counter. Behind her, the silhouette of Table Mountain fades into the deepening sky, while the cart’s corrugated tin roof reflects the city lights. A small tin box sits open, revealing neatly folded paper napkins, and a whisk leans casually against a crate of produce.
