A wrought-iron balcony above displays a drying rack holding damp, colorful linens, their fabric heavy with water. Below, a street vendor adjusts a wicker basket overflowing with bright, textured oranges, their skins glistening against the wet gray stone. A ceramic watering jug sits precariously on a low wall nearby, condensation beading on its glazed surface. The quiet transition from night to day, with the damp air softening the harsh lines of the surrounding whitewashed buildings and terracotta roofs.
