Honey-colored light from a high window spills across the floor of a Rio de Janeiro banquet hall, illuminating a metal umbrella stand near the service entrance. Several closed umbrellas with dark fabric and curved handles rest in the rack, their shadows stretching long against the cool, polished concrete. The golden hour sun catches the reflective surface of a nearby mirror, creating a doubled image of the rack and the slanted beams of light. Dust particles float gently in the air, visible only where the light strikes them. The warm glow highlights the texture of the metal and the smooth curves of the umbrellas. A final reflection in the glass shows the edge of a window frame against the dimming sky.
