Terracotta Flowerpot in Florence

A weathered terracotta flowerpot sits on a narrow stone ledge of a Florentine balcony, illuminated by the warm glow of a nearby sodium streetlamp. The rough, porous surface of the clay is highlighted by the directional light, revealing cracks and patches of dried moss along its rim. Behind the pot, the blurred outlines of red-tiled roofs and a distant church dome fade into the deep blue of the night sky. One dry leaf rests against the curved edge of the pot, catching the yellowish reflection of the city lights below.
