Sunlight slices through the lattice windows of a Fez courtyard, illuminating a worn wooden stool positioned near a low stone basin. Beside it, a chipped blue enamel basin catches the harsh afternoon glare, its surface marred by years of use and hard water stains. A gardener in a faded djellaba pauses to adjust a terracotta pot, his hands resting on the rim of the container. The scene is framed by intricate zellige tilework that reflects the bright light, against the dusty earth tones of the surrounding walls. A linen runner, slightly frayed at the edges, drapes over a nearby bench, holding a few scattered dates and a small porcelain cup with visible crazing.
