Under the harsh sodium glare of a Kolkata night, a street-side tea stall’s corrugated tin roof dominates the upper frame, reflecting the wet asphalt below. A stainless steel kettle sits on a small gas burner, its spout emitting a thin plume of steam that catches the orange light from a nearby neon sign. Behind the counter, stacks of blue and white porcelain cups are arranged in precarious towers, their glossy surfaces against the rough, stained concrete of the stall. One droplet of condensation rests on the rim of a waiting cup, mirroring the chaotic tangle of electrical wires overhead.
