Cool, pre-dawn light enters through large glass panels, illuminating a wooden rack holding a row of rubber sauna sandals. Dark sweat stains mark the footbeds where repeated handling has worn the surface smooth. Condensation beads along the lower edges of the nearby window, tracing slow paths down the glass. The floor beneath the rack is cool concrete, resting against the warm, damp wood of the shelf. Each sandal sits in precise alignment, rubber straps showing signs of stretching and use. A small drop of water hangs from the window frame edge, ready to fall.
