Surreal Cat Lounge Window Perch Doha
by Leon Salgado
Flat noon light floods the grooming bay in Doha, reflecting off polished stainless steel bowls and neatly folded towels. A standard cat window perch sits against the glass, but one of its climbing towers has expanded to the height of a building column, towering over the adoption cards pinned to the window pane. The impossible structure casts a sharp, geometric shadow across the tiled floor. Small plastic toys rest on the lower rungs of the giant tower, appearing tiny against the massive scale. Clean care-space lighting highlights the texture of the sisal rope and the smooth surface of the glass. The adoption cards remain legible at eye level while the architectural giant stretches upward, blurring the boundary between pet furniture and city infrastructure. One reflection of the sun glints on the rim of a water bowl.
