Sunscreen Binder Neon Light Wrong Shadows in inside a breakfast room before opening in Riffa

Sunscreen Binder Neon Light Wrong Shadows

by Ida Le

Pale daylight falls through the rear windows of the breakfast room in Riffa, meeting the harsh glow of overhead neon tubes that wash the back-of-house counter in electric blues and greens. A plastic binder for kids-club sunscreen consent forms rests open on the clean laminate surface. The paper pages lie flat, their white edges catching the artificial light. Shadows from the binder and the nearby chair legs stretch backward, pointing directly toward the neon fixtures and the distant windows, defying the physics of the visible light sources. The room remains empty and poised, with restrained clutter and sharp reflections on the floor tiles. A faint blue rim of light traces the spine of the binder.
