Sunlight spills over the ochre walls of a narrow Hoi An alleyway, illuminating a street vendor arranging bright blue and white majolica plates on a wooden cart. The plates catch the early light, their glossy surfaces reflecting the damp cobblestones below. A local woman in a conical hat pauses to inspect the ceramics, her hand reaching out to touch the rim of one plate. Behind her, the faded yellow facade of a colonial building shows signs of age with peeling paint and small scratches on the sink rim of an adjacent outdoor basin. The quiet commerce of the morning, with the vibrant colors of the pottery contrasting against the muted tones of the historic architecture.
