An early evening street scene in Rio de Janeiro shows a vendor balancing a worn wooden tray atop a crowded sidewalk. The tray holds small clay cups of coffee, steam rising gently into the cooling air. Behind the vendor, the distinctive curved silhouette of Sugarloaf Mountain fades into the twilight sky, while the red and white cables of the cable car system stretch upward toward the peak. Pedestrians in casual attire walk past, some glancing at the wares. The pavement reflects the ambient glow from nearby shop signs, at the base of the moment in the bustling urban rhythm of the city as day transitions to night.
