The cool stillness of pre-dawn settles over a narrow Kathmandu street where a vendor prepares for the day ahead. Stacked cardboard boxes line the wet pavement near a doorway adorned with faded red brickwork typical of the old city. A cluster of folded umbrellas leans against a low wall, their fabric damp from the morning mist. Beside them sits a large porcelain jar, its surface showing fine hairline crazing that speaks to years of use. A metal cooler jug rests nearby, reflecting the faint gray light of the sky. A quiet moment of daily routine before the city fully wakes, with no people in frame but the evidence of their presence clear in the arranged goods.
